The Technical Authority for Reservoir Engineering role lies within a small multidisciplinary group responsible for setting and assuring technical standards for all the main subsurface disciplines.
Development, ownership, maintenance and continual improvement of systems, processes, standards, guidelines, and best practices for all Reservoir Engineering activities.
Conduct quality internal and external peer assist and peer review support to Subsurface execution teams.
Working with Subsurface leads to identify skill gaps and develop optimal staff training plans designed to close gaps.
Development of metrics/KPIs to manage Reservoir Engineering activities.
Developing and maintaining database of external Reservoir Engineering expertise.
Identifying and promote best industry practice and standardization within E&P.
Providing guidance on standardized subsurface software.
Approving standards dispensations.
Using of Digital/Data Management best practices for Subsurface activities.
Working with all Divisions to correctly staff Projects and activities to meet business needs and provide support to all Divisions for Reservoir Engineering evaluations.
Role model leadership and support for QHSE culture.
University Degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification.
More than 15 years of experience as E&P RE (preferably with an Operator).
Comprehensive skillset to include hands-on experience in classical RE methods, well test analysis and reservoir simulation modelling (black oil & compositional), dynamic uncertainty analysis, water and gas injection projects, EOR (miscible gas injection, WAG), PVT, SCAL, Formation Evaluation/Rock Typing. Involvement in Field Development and Reservoir Management Planning.
Strong understanding and track record of executing risk and uncertainty evaluations.
History of leading and performing integrated subsurface projects and studies.
Varied experience across countries/basins, clastic and carbonate reservoirs, and the E&P Lifecycle.
Cross subsurface discipline awareness is preferred.
Keen interest in discipline advances (Methods and Technology).
Strong Mentorship skills.
Knowledge of Digitally enabled ways of working.
Strong Communication and Collaboration Skills.
High level of English is required, knowledge of Spanish is beneficial.
The position will be based in our Madrid HQ. Occasional travel may be required.
